Annandale

For this project, the Owners Corporation had previously engaged their own remedial builder, who had attempted to rectify a waterproofing issue on the balconies – and actually succeeded in making it worse. This was resulting in water moving down the building onto lower level balustrades and balconies and causing more damage, including rotting timber.

For the balconies, we had to remove the existing floor tiles off the existing membrane, and then replace the membrane and re-tile the areas. All the doors leading onto the balcony area had to be replaced, as the new waterproofing needed to go under the doors to encapsulate and seal the entire area.

In this case, we also installed additional floor wastes to alleviate water pooling – an example of us updating the design so the remedial works actually solved the existing problem.

Scope of works include:

  • Re-waterproofing and tiling of balconies
  • Planterbox waterproofing
  • Bathroom waterproofing / rectification
  • New balcony dividing walls and pergolas
  • Render repairs
